A small team of senior engineers. On purpose.
LochLogic is a remote-first development company registered in Scotland. Our founder is based in Aberdeen; our engineers work across the UK, Europe and India. What we share: a decade-plus each of shipping Drupal, WordPress, Laravel and React in production — now spanning web applications, mobile apps, AI integration and DevOps — and a preference for building things properly over building them loudly.
The gap we're built for
Most digital agencies are design and marketing companies that also do development. We're the inverse: a pure engineering team. No account managers, no strategy decks, no design studio — just the people who write the code, talking directly to the people who need it written.
That shape has consequences we consider features. Requirements don't get lost in translation between layers. Estimates come from the person who'll do the work. And because we don't sell design or marketing, the agencies we partner with know we can never compete for their clients.
Why we're distributed — and why that's good for you
- Senior people, sensible rates. We hire the best engineers we can find, wherever they are — not the best within commuting distance of one office. The savings on office overheads and location premiums go into your quote.
- The clock works for you. With engineers across time zones, work progresses while UK clients sleep — a fix requested at 5pm is often waiting, tested, by morning.
- Everything written down. Distributed teams live or die by documentation and version control, so ours is a habit, not an aspiration. You inherit that discipline in every handover pack.
- In person when it matters. Our founder is in Aberdeen and happy to meet UK clients and partners face to face.
Things we believe about software
- Maintenance is the product. Anyone can launch; keeping software secure, fast and current for years is the real job. It's why every service we offer ends in a care plan.
- The right tool, argued honestly. We work across four stacks precisely so we never have to force-fit the one we happen to sell. Sometimes the honest answer is "you don't need us."
- No lock-in, ever. Open source platforms, your repositories, your accounts, documented handovers. We'd rather win your renewal on merit.
- Boring is a feature. Version control, staging environments, tested deploys, written reports. Excitement belongs in your product, not your infrastructure.
