The calm phone call for your worst project week

Developer resigned mid-build. The deadline moved and the roadmap didn't. A client arrived with a codebase your team won't touch. Agency life has these weeks — and having senior engineers you can pull in under your brand, without a hiring process, is how they stay weeks instead of becoming reputations.

When agencies call us

Mid-project developer loss

We pick up the half-built project, learn the codebase fast, and carry it to the deadline — keeping your client's timeline intact and the departure invisible to them.

Capacity crunches

Three pitches landed at once — congratulations, and condolences. We absorb the overflow build work so you don't hire for a peak or decline work you fought to win.

The inherited codebase

A new client's existing site, built who-knows-how by who-knows-whom. We audit it, stabilise it and maintain it — so you can take the client without taking the archaeology.

Skills outside your bench

Your WordPress team meets a Drupal RFP, or a client wants a mobile app. We're the specialist bench behind your generalist front.

Pre-pitch technical backup

Scoping and feasibility answers while you're still pitching — so the proposal you win is one that can actually be built for the number in it.

The recurring safety valve

Many agencies keep us on a light retainer after the first rescue — guaranteed response when the next fire starts, and priority scheduling that makes it rarely needed.

// how it works

Fast to start, safe to introduce

Rescue work is judged on time-to-useful: we can usually look at a codebase within a day or two and give you an honest read — salvageable, needs surgery, or cheaper to rebuild — that you can take to your client with confidence. Everything runs under NDA and your brand, in your tools if you prefer. And because we sell no design or marketing, introducing us can't cost you the relationship — there's nothing of yours we compete for.

Common questions

How fast can you actually start?

For genuine emergencies, we can usually begin the assessment within 48 hours. Standing retainer clients jump the queue — that's much of what the retainer buys.

Will you work in our project management and comms?

Yes — your Slack, your Jira/Asana/Trello, your standups if useful. White-label means adapting to you, not the reverse.

How is rescue work priced?

The initial assessment is fixed-price. From there: fixed phases where scope is knowable, transparent time-and-materials with a cap where it isn't — agreed with you before your client hears a number.

What's on fire?

Describe the situation — no polish needed, we've heard worse. A senior developer replies with next steps, usually the same day.
